Review of To Catch a Thief (1955) by Garrett O — 18 Nov 2009
Suave and sophisticated jewel thief on the French Riviera trying to clear his name against a mysterious foe. Sounds like Hitchcock to me. Cary Grant is the only actor for the part and Grace Kelly is unbelievable as the American Heiress--probably type casting.
If you are a Hitchcock fan this is not North By Northwest but it is one of his best. Great whodunit with a surfeit of suspense. A great film made in Hitchcock's Golden Age.
