Review of To Be and to Have (2002) by Bristi B — 12 Apr 2008
I found this documentary utterly charming. It showed that a film doesn't have to have a strong narrative or plot-line to be hugely enjoyable, but can compel you with a myriad of touching moments, silences, humour and humanity.
It evoked wonderful and painful memories of childhood and how rewarding the relationships between a good teacher and student could be on both sides... Highly recommended.
