Review of To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018) by Talia P — 24 Aug 2018
SPOILERS AHEAD.... First of all what kind of psychopath FAKE DATES someone for MONTHS just to make his ex jealous? Man has SERIOUS issues. And the reason Lara Jean is going along with it makes ZERO SENSE.
First it's because she wants to convince her sister's ex that she's no longer in love with him but then she ends up TELLING HIM THAT THE RELATIONSHIP IS FAKE?! So at the point shes willingly apart of a jealousy scheme for no reason AND catching feelings for her fake boyfriend.
The whole movie was so rushed and there was literally no character development. Who even is Lara Jean? She's just some seemingly innocent girl with crushes who's mom died?? WHY does she pretend to be so innocent? WHY doesn't she go after her crushes? WHY does she seem so immune to her mom's passing? Was Peter her first kiss? How does that make her feel? How come she has no friends? WHY DOES HER SISTER GO TO COLLEGE IN FUCKING SCOTLAND? WHATS IN SCOTLAND??! Terrible movie.
2/5 stars.
