Review of TMNT (2007) by Movie K — 27 Mar 2010
Quite enjoyable TMNT CGI movie, taking place after the live action trilogy. Nice actions. Leonardo is sent to train and learn on his own in the outside world to be a better leader. He protects the people in central america jungle.
April is there on a job as well as to update him on the other turtles. Donatello is working as a help desk, Michaelangelo is a party entertainer, Raphael sleeps all day. Leonardo feels he isn't ready yet and don't wish to return.
Back in USA, April hand over the statue to his client Winters. Total of 4 statues. They are all the generals of Winters. 3000 years ago, the 5 of them lead an army so powerful they want to conquer the world.
With a portal and the stars in straight line, Winters gain immortality, but the 4 generals turns into statues and 13 monsters are unleashed. He let the generals comes to life and employ foot clan led by Karai to help him find all the monsters.
Raphael is actually acting as Nightwatcher, a crime fighting "hero" at night. Leonardo returns but continues to have problems with Raphael. Their first trip out and orders were break for fighting the first monster.
The generals easily captures the monsters. When one of the general ask Winters if the curse is lifted, they won't be immortal, Winters told him not to question him. That general told the others they are not to find the last monster as Winters is gonna betray them.
Leonardo fights the Nightwatcher and know the identity. Raphael break his sword and defeat Leonardo but left angrily. The generals capture Leonardo. Raphael goes back to seek forgiveness from Splinter and they go out to save him with April and Casey Jones.
The portal is activated but the last monster is missing. The turtles save Leonardo and battles with the generals. April, Casey, Karai went to find the last monster. Just in time they led the monster into the portal and triumph.
Winters turns to dust but he is happy because he want to lift the curse for a good cause. The turtles are untied as one again.
