TMNT is a movie that has the potential to be great, yet it's uninteresting villan plot lets it down. That's a real shame because the team behind this understand the characters very well. The writing is mostly spot on for the Turtles, Splinter, April and Casey, though Michelangelo and Donatello are shafted in favour of Leonardo and Raphael (though I can hardly complain given how interesting and complex the rivalry between these two is).

The villain plot, as I mentioned before, is dull, cliche and makes me miss The Shredder SOOO much, so I won't talk about it beyond that. The voice-acting is great, with James Arnold Taylor and Nolan North delivering solid performances as Leonardo and Raphael respectively.

Sarah Michelle Gellar(April O'Neil) and Chris Evans(Casey Jones) are both charming and hilarious, while Patrick Stewart's Max Winters suffers from a lack of deph despite his performance and Mako (tragically in his final movie role) makes for a terrific Splinter.

The animation is a good fit for the Turtles series, and the score by Klaus Badelt is brilliant. Ultimately, TMNT is an enjoyable film that feels like setup for a sequel, though sadly, that sequel won't ever be made.
