Review of T.J. Miller: Meticulously Ridiculous (2017) by Robert H — 17 Jun 2017
The first ten minutes, I figured he might be able to, at least, top Dane Cook which is a pretty low ceiling. After five more minutes I turned it off, but checked in during commercial breaks in other shows plus I watched the last ten minutes.
All in all, the worse HBO stand-up special ever and I can't remember anyone who might have been even close to this level of a waste of time. In an ad lib setting on various talk shows, he has been very funny and clever.
It doesn't really appear that he knew he was on the hook to do a full hour so he made it up as he went. He'd better fine a niche fast as he act is wearing thin and he doesn't have the weekly show to fall back on.
Stand-up is not his forte.
