Review of Titus (1999) by Robert D — 12 Jul 2009
Except for the places where Julie Taymor sacrifices her characters for an image, this is a chilling and entertaining movie. There are bits where it seems as though the director is trying too hard to impress people, but when she pulls back and lets her wonderfully talented cast do their work, it comes off very well.
Alan Cumming has never been slimier and Colm Feore finally gets not only a role but a movie befitting his training and expertise.
