Review of Titus (1999) by Muhammad A — 12 Jan 2010
This is perhaps the only Shakespeare production that not only does justice to his work, but in fact improves on it. Titus Andronicus, for good reason, is not one of Shakespeare's best known plays. Through the clever use of anachronisms, stunning cinematography and exceptional acting, while remaining entirely faithful to Shakespeare's script, the director has turned this 16th century slasher story into a visual treat.
It is Clockworks Orange, Brazil, and Gladiator all thrown into one. Don't miss!
