Review of Titanic II (2010) by John M — 18 Sep 2010
Not the sequel to, but the opposite of Cameronâ??s masterpiece. Because people donâ??t learn from their mistakes, 100 years after the sinking of the unsinkable ship, Titanic II sets sail across the Atlantic.
Guess what happens. Call it a gentlemanâ??s intuition, but I could sense that this was the work of The Asylum without anybody telling me, and sure enough, I was right on the money. They are the guys that brought you knockoffs like Transmorphers and The Da Vinci Treasure.
There is some really funny stuff here, whether it is intentional or not is up for debate. The only problem here is the same problem that is true with all of The Asylum releases; there are some huge laughs to be had, and they are always at what a cornball movie it is: the positively shameless CGI effects, the acting that isnâ??t suitable for commercials that you may see at two in the morningâ?¦ Youâ??ll laugh at it when it goes completely overboard, but surrounding those moments is a terrible, cornball movie.
The only reason why you would ever rent this is that you are renting a movie to laugh at as opposed to with, and you will do that here, just not nearly enough.
