Review of Titanic II (2010) by I Don't Know W — 13 May 2011
Before I begin this review, let me just say this is not a sequel to James Cameron's Titanic. As a matter of fact, it's not a sequel at all. It was only called Titanic 2 because it was the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking, and they decided to make a boat that would pretty much be the Titanic of today.
Even if it was a sequel, though, it would still suck. The plot is gimmicky, to much so to be enjoyable, the characters are unlikable to the point where you just hope they'll drown, and the special effects made a bad movie even worse.
I mean, seriously, if you only watch the action scenes of this movie, you would swear it was an animated movie altogether. The worst thing about this whole movie is the lighting. Like when the boat is sinking, you're looking all across the screen just to find one glimpse of brightness, but don't waste your time, cause there's rarely any glimpses of light, both on screen, and the movie itself.
I gave this an extra half star cause the acting was OK, there was a decent amount of tension, and the blood effects were somewhat realistic. Other than that, it's a complete waste of time. Although there are some redeeming qualities, there's not nearly enough for me to tell you to watch this movie.
