Review of Titanic (1943) by Leif B — 10 Nov 2013
Titanic fills our hearts (which apparently will go on) with cliche after cliche. The depth of character beyond "good guys are nice and smart, and bad guys are mean and dumb" is non-existent. This movie has no surprises what-so-ever in store: the boat sinks (we knew that going in), the confused young lady leaves the mean guy for the nice guy, etcetera, etcetera.
The characters are so shallow I postulate they can be fully understood by an autistic infant. If you like watching movies that can be fully digested in one watching then James Cameron has a $200 million gem just for you.
