Review of Titanic (1943) by Christo A — 15 Oct 2015
A timeless classic from the moment it hit the big screens in 1997, a blockbuster film of TITANIC proportions. Titanic deserved all 11 Oscars it won, no competition. The fictional forbidden romance was so beautifully integrated into the factual maiden voyage of the ship, that you'd forget about it being a cliche.
The full-scale model of the ship was very well constructed, the inclusion of the actual wreck was even more spectacular and to top it off, the music was heartbreaking. Very rarely has a romantic drama ever achieved such a wide appeal across genres and cultures.
A romance, with a good amount of action, realism and charm, and a little bit of comedy. People came to see the ship's sinking, but they left in tears from being drawn into Jack and Rose's doomed romance.
Only one film could match Titanic's emotional level, and that was Fast and Furious 7, but only thanks to an emotional tribute for late actor Paul Walker. Strangely, the only Oscars Titanic did not receive was any acting-related Oscars.
I don't understand why none of the actors received Oscars for their respective roles, cuz according to me, they all deserved Oscars. The sinking of the ship was quite epic, and you were left in awe until the music ripped-out you heart and tore it to shreds at the very end.
You felt their loss. Every time I watch this film, I tear up at the end, and I'll probably continue doing so for the next 20yrs. This is easily the Best film of All Time.
