Review of Tiny Furniture (2010) by Dan R — 07 Mar 2012
I think this movie portrays the over-educated, disoriented college/university graduates in a very realistic way. I definitely see myself being like that as soon as I finish school.
When it comes to the movie now....I think that everyone nowadays believes they can make an independent film. And too many people actually do. And even worse, they believe that their lives are interesting enough to actually make them into a movie. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for autobiographical movies - but only when they're done right.
I thought this movie was trying too hard. It was tiring, alienating, over-written, and with not a very successful title. Most characters (all characters?) were annoying and I couldn't sympathize with any of them. I love U.S. independent cinema, but I'm too cynical to be nice to bad movies anymore.
