Review of Tiny Furniture (2010) by Dustin D — 06 May 2012
Not only is Lena Dunham's character completely unsympathetic, she is also not relateable. Maybe this was her point in writing the film, but it is very hard to become engrossed in a plot if one is hating the main character the entire time (as in my case).
I couldn't have cared less that she was having a hard time transitioning out of college (as myself and many other young people have) because she was incredibly unlikable. The peripheral characters were either too strange or too cold to even care whether they were on screen or not.
I really wanted to like this movie, but it turns out it's hard to like a movie when you don't like the main character.
