Review of Tiny Furniture (2010) by Jake P — 03 Nov 2012
I think Lena Dunham, writer, director & fundamental center of the film, is onto something here. As a writer she's crafted characters & dialogue with an uncanny sense of wit & realism. She's obviously in touch with with the secularist college age wanderers the film spends much of its time observing.
As director she's skilled in composition, finding warmth in her monochromatic NYC apartment. As a character of her own she creation, Aura is all at once charming, self deprecating, desperate, lost but hopeful.
You know there are bigger things ahead for Lena & Aura in the future.
