Review of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) by Peter A — 06 Aug 2012
Fantastic performance from Gary Oldman as the quiet but brilliant George Smiley in this adaptation of the Le Carre novel. This is a spy movie that is the antithesis of Bond as he effectively roots out the mole from a list of suspects during the cold war.
The pace is very slow and this distracts from the suspense a little as by the end when the mole is uncovered you have stopped caring. Still a welcome relief from the bournes and superheroes. A deep cerebral thriller.
