Review of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) by Allan N — 29 Nov 2012
Extremely well performed by the entire cast, but of course Gary Oldman over shadows them all, and it's a mystery why it took so long for him to be Oscar nominated. The cinematography is spectacular and the overall 70's mood is very well captured.
It was kind of heavy and long, but it adds to the 70's crime/spy genre feeling. It wasn't nail biting and "on-the-edge-of-the-seat" enough. The climax was to swift and a bit unsatisfying.
I really want to like it, but it should have been more intense, the lack of action was more than fine, it doens't need it, but it should have compensated in other ways.
