Review of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) by Bobby K — 24 Apr 2013
The definitive spy thriller that dispenses with the glamor of the Bond films and replaces it with a cold, tense, paranoid vision of espionage that has rarely been seen on the screen. The performances are some of the best from its cast of established actors, with exemplary nods towards Gary Oldman's portrayal of a shell of a man George Smiley.
Much like a film by Kubrick, Alfredson has crafted a dense, layered puzzle of a film that will leave you thinking and breathless throughout viewing it.
