Review of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) by Vineeth P — 12 Jul 2013
It was deeply absorbing and very stylish, I love the period setting and how dour and overcast everything looked; it suited the story. The cast were all great, I think i'm warming to Colin Firth...just a little.
My only problem was when it got to around the 40 minute mark, when Tom Hardy is first introduced. Any momentum build up was relinquished during those scenes and as vital as they were I totally fell off of the bandwagon and felt left behind a little.
I didn't find this as tense as it could have been and I guess that disappointed me, I thought it would be told in a way that was more gripping. Apart from that everything else was great and I think I can see why everyone enjoys Benedict Cumberbatch too.
