Review of Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure (2009) by Karen C — 03 Nov 2009
My almost 5-year-old and I loved the first Tinker Bell movie, and I was so happy when I got this, as I knew my daughter was going to love another Tinker Bell story. Well, this latest Tinker Bell movie exceeded my expectations - it is so much more than its predecessor, in terms of an engaging plot, lots of adventure, and as is typical of Disney productions, conveys positive messages to do with friendship, loyalty, perseverance, and a healthy dose of creativity!
In "Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure", Tinker Bell is honored when Queen Clarion of the fairy realm of Pixie Hollow, the Minister of Fall and Tink's mentor, Fairy Mary choose her to take charge of the precious moonstone and design a scepter for the fall celebrations called Autumn Revelry. This is a great honor indeed as the fragile moonstone is the source of all the fairy folk's magic. Tink is happy to share her joy with Terence, her best friend, but they end up having an argument, and Tink accidentally breaks the moonstone. Too proud to ask for help, Tink goes off on a solitary adventure in one of her new contraptions, that is a sort of hot-air balloon (except it's powered by fairy dust), and makes a new friend along the way. But, Tink also realizes that she does need help and cannot manage everything by herself. It is a heartwarming story that dazzles with color and 'magic', and loads of adventure.
