Review of Tinker Bell (2008) by James R — 18 Jan 2009
This is Disney trying to rip off Dreamworks (Over the Hedge, Kung Fu Panda). It's not a musical, but has some fake celtic song montages. It has rather poor fluidity in its animation, but has some pleasing colors and effects.
It's cool they gave Tinker Bell a back story, but it's too bad that they CHANGED her character; she is not the saucy sprite we know from the original Peter Pan Disney film. There are a bunch of stereotype and cliche characters, and the dialogue is a jumbled mess of modern day chattering and classic story tale qualities.
Maybe I have been living in Japan too long, but not a SINGLE panty shot! (j/k) Overall I'd probably let my 5 or 6 year old daughter watch this. I couldn't believe there was a "tard" noise joke in it.
Disney, shame shame!
