Review of Tim's Vermeer (2013) by Bradley H — 10 Jul 2014

I had this documentary on my to watch list for ever...now I finally saw it and glad I did! This is fascinating stuff. Tim Jenison has a lot of money, big ideas and intelligence and decides to recreate and paint one of Vermeer's most famous paintings proving that he used mirrors and camera escura kind of technology to paint such photo-realistic paintings way before photography was invented.

Without any background in painting and art (ok, he is kind of a genius) he also tries to prove that using this technique anyone can be a master painter. Intriguing and fascinating, this a story about an obsession that can make look and art in a completely new light!
