I would give it 3 1/2 if possible. Fascinating but a bit draggy in the middle. My biggest issue is that the film alludes to how controversial is the theory that Vermeer must have used mirrors etc., but chooses not to feature any of the critics on screen or even quote them indirectly.

It's like Penn Gillette and Teller have stacked the deck in favor of their pal Jenison--who's listed as one of the producers--which detracts from the credibility of the film.
