Review of Timecop (1994) by John T — 31 Dec 2014
Timecop is actually not half bad. It's super dated by now, but still mildly entertaining as long as you understand what your getting yourself into. Max Walker (Jean Claude Van Damme) is a Timecop. Part of the TEC (Time Enforcement Commission) he stops crimes that happen when people time travel to the past to benefit because of future knowledge or technology.
The crazy thing is they never explain how people know how to time travel they sort of just assume you can roll with it. The plot involved a corrupt politician named Senator McComb (Ron Silver) who is making money in the past to finance his future goal of being President of the United States.
JCVD comes through here and has some cool action sequences, but nothing too spectacular. The film has a ton of subplots going on. One involves Walkers murdered wife, a rogue cop, and even a plot about the whole concept of time travel.
Overall, it's definitely work a look for 90's movie fans!
