Review of Time Changer (2003) by Joelandcharity K — 02 Sep 2007
When I rented this movie, I was under the premise that it was a time travel adventure, an insight into a future built on the mistakes of the past. I didn't realize the religious undertone was so stong.
Although the movie starts off slow (and deathly boring), it adds up to a nice philosophical interpretation of ONE ideology. However the pureness of the religion is runined by the underlieing fear of a fate in hell, which Carlisle is constantly reminding people of.
The society of the future in the movie (modeled on the society of today), has free will (if you like to call it that). If Carlisle had his way, we'd all be follwing the same rules in fear under the guise of freedom.
That really bothered me, but it made me think too. Read between the lines when watching this movie.
