Review of Time After Time (2011) by Erik J — 23 Dec 2009
An idea so unique that any other less-talented team would have blundered it. Such is not the case here. Nicholas Meyer blends together fiction and reality seamlessly. Malcom McDowell carries his performance with perfect polish as does his antagonist played by David Warner.
There's a bit of awkward comedy with the "Fish Out of Temporal Water" premise mixed with a bit of rather predictable love story, but it only helps to balance out Meyer's greatest strength: Building Suspense. The tension between the two time travelers escalates beyond measure in the final act.
