Review of Time After Time (2011) by Isaac K — 12 Feb 2010
The film starts in 1897 with Jack the ripper killing a prostitute. It then switches to the beginning of "The Time Machine" As HG Wells(McDowell) Gathers his friends to show them the machine. But Scotland yard arrive to arrest the ripper, It turns out that he's one of wells' guests! Jack climbs into the machine, and escapes into the future.
Because he didn't take wells' key, the machine returns to wells' laboratory. H. G. Follows behind him, and arrives in 1979 San Francisco. He is on the trail of the killer, When he meets, and falls in love with a bankteller, (played by Mary Steenburgen).
The ripper tries to secure the time machine key from Wells, by any means neccasary. By travelling a few days into the future, Wells learns that the ripper plans to kill the bankteller! This is a highly imiginative movie, And I think it's just great.
But, that's probably because I love H.G. Wells.
