An interesting idea but not the thrill ride it could have been. instead it turns into a fish out of water story with a pretense towards social commentary. unfortunately it's dated - the story takes place "today", which is 1979 in the film.
the pacing of the film is off - 10 or 15 minutes could've been cut from this without hurting it. and I never bought the romance that's supposed to have blossomed between mcdowell and steenburgen.
not a bad movie for a lazy saturday morning...
