Review of Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2012) by Brandon B — 21 Jun 2012
A disappointing effort by the offbeat duo. Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie becomes the exact type of movie that it is attempting to poke fun at: a poorly organized script transformed into a poorly thought out movie.
The team tries to incorporate key elements present in the T.V. show, but it doesn't work here. The duo lays out the hour and a half long movie like one of their 15 minute television series episodes.
Instead of being funny, it becomes blatantly stupid and outright boring. The large number of guest appearances, particularly Ray Wise, added some funny scenes into the mix, but no more than just a few.
What could have been an outrageous offbeat parody is instead a boring formulaic comedy with a slight twist.
