Listen people. This movie isn't supposed to be taken seriously. In turn I do not take it seriously and find it to be hysterical. Tim and Eric have been a duo that I have always found to be very funny.
If you disagree (and many will), I will still always love this movie for what it is. A cluster of randomness that keeps me laughing from beginning to end with the sick sense of comedy that this movie holds.
