Review of Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2012) by Roberto F — 05 Mar 2012

This is for me at least an instant classic, an one of the funniest movies I have seen in my life, and it marks the end of the horrid year of 2011 for comedy.

I have been a fan of Tim and Eric since the days of tom goes to the mayor, and I believe that they did a great job.

The plot is very well written the characters are fleshed out and they force us to care for this people... just so they can make them explode at the end of the movie, that is a writting arc and a genius joke with a payoff. And this is consistent in the entire movie.

The mistery of shrimm, the roaming wolf, the love interest, the subplot that they are both assholes it all comes together in a well executed movie.

Then we have the great performance of john c reilly, playing the good hearted taquito and I have to stop here. They gave taquito a whole background, he lived in squalor with an obese computer playing psycho, he created a taquiuter, he was raised by wolves, he was about to die, his uncle the great Will Ferrell abused him and all of this work creating this world where taquito existed just so they can end up having will ferrell shooting him repeatedly. Thats a comitment to a character that few comedy movies have and it makes billion dollar movie unique.

Then we have the great nonsensical humor that are a staple of tim and eric.

And DOBIS that scene made me cry laughing I still cant understand why something like the dobis scene is so funny for me but that is whats special about them they just create this indescriptible humor that a few people understand.

Even they aknowledge this just look at the audience shots they have during the movie, its all people that got paid to be there an they dont understand whats funny about two fat men dancing doing a formal presentation about saving a mall, with some powerpoint in old small television sets.

Im going to see this movie again right now just to see the kid exploding scene again. Love Tim and Eric.
