Review of Tilt (1979) by Senor C — 16 Dec 2011
Ever since I was a young boy I've played the silver ball. From Soho down to Brighton I must have played them all...but I ain't seen nothing like her in any amusement hall. That 14 year old Brooke Shields sure plays a mean pinball.
Sorta The Hustler lite of the pinball sect I had a lot of fun w/ Tilt but that is probably because I love pinball. Charles Durning has never looked like a bigger piece of shit that either he put on a fuck of a lot of weight or they padded him like crazy as the pinball ace 'The Wale'. Has a great scene w/ Geoffery Lewis as a truck driver that he & Shields have a conversation about sex & drugs & a cameo w/ Fred Ward that I was just happy to see him in this. Truly a movie of its time (sorta like disco or Arcade movies from the 80s) but everyone is likeable especially a very young Brooke Shields. My rating may be a bit high for what it actually is but it sure did put a smile on my face.
