Review of Tightrope (1984) by Alan L — 25 May 2008
Clint takes an ordinary murder mystery (he made a 100 of them), takes the human element, and turns it into true and demonic character study of a single father tempted by the worst of real New Orleans. This cop is on the edge in a way so subtly shocking you hardly believe Clint took the role, but he did, and he's certainly shown himself to have that depth inside him.
Is it just misogyny? I hope we can see more than that. We learn in hard terms that the "brawling Dirty Harry man" is something other.
