Review of Tightrope (1984) by Steven1981 — 20 Mar 2020
Clint Eastwood stars in this drama kind of mystery type thriller from 1984 alongside Dan Hedaya. It says on Google on IMDB that Tightrope is about a serial rapist killer but I saw no evidence to suggest he actually raped any of the women he slayed or maybe I missed that part however I've seen this movie many times and nothing suggests to me they were raped.
However Clint Eastwood is a father to two adorable blonde girls, one looks about 4-5 years old (Jenny Beck) and some annoying woman who does yoga classes or something stupid or self defense classes regarding strangers joins Clint Eastwood, they even have dinner together.
The lady in question is Genevieve Bujold but whatever her role was is irrelevant and I'm probably wrong about the yoga but she does do some exercises in the movie along with Eastwood who's lifting weights or something.
After the killer kills each woman Eastwood see's each gruesome crimescene including a woman in a pool or jacuzzi which is bloody. At the end of the movie the killer targets Eastwood's home and leaves a few surprises and even tries to strangle Genevieve Bujold but sadly fails because I don't think she fits in well to the movie at all.
Her character was totally unnecessary for me. At the end Clint Eastwood gives a on foot chase and the killer dies on a traintrack or something. And there's this sexy blonde chick who gets killed by the killer who sucks on lollipops and has ribbons lol.
Overall a silly film which isn't very entertaining and even the suspense doesn't really save it and Eastwood gives a good performance but is neutralised because of Genevieve Bujold's horrible character in the movie.
The story and the gore could of been so much more violent, gruesome and entertaining and a few characters are annoying so should of been removed so overall a disappointing movie and horrible directing but not the worst movie ever made.
