Review of Tigerland (2000) by John A — 06 Jun 2007
A very underappreciated war film. Although the plot never actually leads us to the Vietnam battlefields, we learn a lot about the psyche of the American soldier. The film is well acted, and the plot keeps things interesting.
It is filmed in a low-key, low-budget style, and represents the essence of no-frills filmmaking. It's not a classic, but it's not a failure. Although it's not saying much, this is likely Colin Farrell's finest moment.
