Review of Tigerland (2000) by Antoine B — 25 Jan 2008
To my own surprise, yes Colin Farrell can act from time to time, he is not just your average irish jock and pub brawler. The movie is pretty good, a nice antimilitaristic essay. In a way (but with less talent) it reminds me this french book that has been censored for 30 years called "Le Deserteur" by Maurienne.
It still is a Schumacher movie though: thick, heavy, no subtilities or nuances, with simplistic ideas, made for barely educated cowboys.
