Review of Tie a Yellow Ribbon (2007) by Tj H — 05 Jul 2007
I was looking forward to watching this film... a film about 3 asian american women, the main character a korean adoptee like myself...
I thought the movie started out really strong, like WOW... I totally relate to this character- i'm viewing myself on screen... but the story changed directions and I got disappointed with the flow of the storyline... the so called 'romantic' relationship between the adoptee and the brother was unbelievable, or I found it too odd... but than again, who knows how much of the storyline was autobiographical...
I liked the so called rapport that developed between the adoptee and simon tho and her rapport with the 2 other asian females...
Not often are asian american adoptees portrayed in aa films... so I give kudos to the director for good effort... I just think I would have told the story in a different way tho...
3 to 3 1/2 stars outta five..
