Review of Tideland (2005) by Joe H — 26 Mar 2008
Found this in the "Must See" section at a local video store. This was a really terrible and painful movie to watch. I tried to keep an open mind like the director requested before the feature film started, but I just couldn't imagine him rediscovering his true past as being this "through the eyes of a nine-year-old girl.
" At the end it left me wondering just how effed up his childhood was if this is what he wants to show us. Death, depravity, and sexual deviance are portrayed as nothing out of the ordinary. I am baffled as to how this is getting great reviews.
