Review of Tideland (2005) by Markus S — 28 May 2008
Fantastic. There are certain images here that resonate so strongly and will seem so familiar, even though you probably won't relate specifically. I found myself viewing it with 2 perspectives-- the adult eye which was aware of the menace and potential danger, but also the child-eye-view where everything is viewed with wonder and trust.
This is one of the best movies I've seen all year, if not longer. After seeing the girl who played Jeliza-Rose, an Oscar going to the girl in Little Miss Sunshine is criminal.
