Gilliam specializes in creepy and insane movies, this is not an exception. It's very intriguing and you just have to see how it ends although there are some very disturbing scenes. I think that the movie has the best child acting performance ever, Jodelle Ferland is just so damn convincing.
When she escapes the normal life into her imagination, we see Gilliam at his best, the whole visual style is just stunning.
