Review of THX 1138 (1971) by Zachariah R — 23 Mar 2008
As is typical with Lucas, this film gets a "special edition" treatment with new CGI sequences. I'm waiting for the day when "American Graffiti" comes out with new CGI hotrods.
However, apart from those new additions and some of the obviously retro computer interfaces, THX 1138 still feels remarkably contemporary. Sterile. Desolate. If you like nice shots of antiseptic architecture -- I do! -- then this is a movie for you.
