Review of THX 1138 (1971) by Andrew R — 12 May 2012
To most ppl this movie would appear boring, and it is in some scenes but George Lucas purposly had made this film in a certain style. Its a very visual film and lets the audience do most of the thinking.
I noticed that other movies about surpressed societies; like The Island, Equalibrium, and Aeon Flux etc had ideas taken from THX 1138. I think that George Lucas created the atmosphere for future films with simliar stories.
It wasn't boring enough that I wasn't entertained. The dvd version included many digital scenes and/or deleted scenes to make the movie look more realistic or current. Although it wasn't one of the best movies I have seen it was definetily worth checking out.
