Review of THX 1138 (1971) by Clifford B — 22 Aug 2009
Neither George Orwell?s ?1984? nor Aldous Huxley's ?Brave New World, have anything to add to the story told in this film. A clear look into the (possibly near) future, where the nanny-state has run amuck. Every aspect of your life is decided by the bureaucracy and everything you do is watched by someone (kind of like what B.H.O. is trying to foist upon us even now).
Once upon a time, I thought this George Lucas classic was only a nightmare produced by a very imaginative mind. Today I see how easily people can be lead into this very kind of system.
Well written, well cast, well acted and well presented.
If you have not already watched this movie, you are cheating yourself. Go out right this moment and buy a copy. Then immediately go home, put it in the player, sit down, watch it...
And be happy.
