Review of Thunderstruck (2012) by Jadin D — 11 Aug 2012
While Durant is renowned for his play on the court, Thunderstruck reveals the NBA star is a multi-talented angel. His effortless swagger on the big screen is on a level only witnessed once before in Hollywood history (this, naturally, was Shaquille O'Neal - AKA Shaq - in his role as the lovable genie Kazaam).
Thunderstruck's premise is simple enough - basketball phenom Durant loses his talent to a young, clumsy teen through a mysterious, unexplainable encounter - harkening back to the critically renowned film Space Jam. As Durant struggles to regain his ability, the teen (Taylor Gray) enjoys the glory associated with the life of a basketball star. Eventually, the respective stars fates are reversed, and the Durantula gets back his talent just in time to save the day. The film makes for a dramatic, heart-wrenching thriller - with plenty of laughs and romance thrown in!
Thunderstruck appears to be a film that changes the life of the audience just by having watched it. The work of director John Whitesell seems destined to be a success, pleasing both casual movie goers and critics alike!
As the credits roll, audience members are sure to be "Thunderstruck" by what is without a doubt the greatest movie of the summer!
