Review of Thunderbirds (2004) by Chuck S — 04 Apr 2010
I don't think i've ever been so disappointed by a movie. I loved the TV show as a child and I was so excited to see this movie. With the exception of Bill Paxton all the actors are perfectly cast and nail the characters, but the script fails and tries to follow the Spy Kids formula which doesn't work with Thunderbirds. Many plot elements don't add up (Why is International Rescus so public? Aren't they supposed to be secret?).
The best sequences in the movie are the CGI parts. The look of Thunderbirds is definetly present and I love the recreation of the Thunderbird vechicles. But the heart of the original (along with many of the plot elements) is missing and the film is definetly a missed oppurtunity.
