Review of Thunderball (1965) by Joss D — 01 Sep 2012
Another uneven installment. The scenes with the antagonists are great and Luciana Paluzzi makes an interesting femme fatale, but like most of this franchise it is horribly dated. Bond's rapey chauvenism and the gratuitious male-fantasy elements ooze at the pores and make for awkward viewing.
The underwater scenes go on forever and are incredibly dull. The plot is very weak in places and the constant barage of inane action sequences also drag. But while the bad bits are terrible, the good bits are great, making this a fairly watchable entry for the most part.
