Review of Thumbsucker (2005) by S P — 24 Mar 2008
The movie tries to be trendy in the way that 'Juno' and 'Little Miss Sunshine' are trendy, but just falls short. The actors do a good job portraying characters each struggling to accept their own flaws, a major theme of the movie.
However, the extremely dry delivery can get rather monotonous. Keanu Reeves is actually quite funny (whether it's intentional or not) as the hippie dentist in the way that it's just so oddly appropriate.
