Review of Thumbsucker (2005) by Hilary T — 20 Nov 2008
This is the first movie I ever saw in an independent cinema. I generally like to write off the whole adolescent experience because I feel 1) its completely false, and 2) nobody ever grows out of it, but this film describes it so well along with the teenage angst that sells.
also, there is this one part where lou pucci and kelly garner are fooling around and elliott smith's cover of 'thirteen' is playing and it is by far, one of the best uses of music for cinematic purposes.
also. this is a top notch cast.
