Review of Thumbsucker (2005) by Thom M — 29 Jul 2010
Sweet, sweet indie goodness. Lou Pucci is two for two for me, unless I'm forgetting something else he's in. Anyhow, he's got remarkable talent for the socially impaired type. This film as well as Pucci's performance really takes you back to those awkward and innocent days of discovery in high school.
I love films like these, such a nice break from all the garbage cranked out today, in terms of being simplistic and character driven. You don't have just mom and dad and the kid, you have real people.
Character development was one of many aspects I enjoyed in this film. BUT MAN. SPIRITUAL GUIDE KEANU??! HECK YEAH!!
