Review of Throw Momma from the Train (1987) by Tristan J — 06 Apr 2008
I absolutely love this movie! It has a laid back style of comedy that matches my sense of humor almost perfectly, so I get all the jokes. I would be hard pressed to think of a better duo than Billy Crystal and Danny DeVito. Billy Crystal+Danny DeVito= win.
Owen's Momma gives the lynch pin performance of the movie. She really does a good job of making us hate her, but after some time, you can't help loving her too. Quoting her best lines here does not do her justice, but here are some of my favorite lines:
"Owen! Bring me a soda with some ice in it!".
"He's trying to kill me! I asked for the salted nuts, he brings me the unsalted nuts, the unsalted nuts MAKE ME CHOKE!".
Owen: "Owen loves his momma!".
Momma: (Singsongy) "Owen loves his momma, owen loves his momma!".
Good times... good times...
